Mother-of-three, 25, dies from Covid after saying she was ‘nervous’ of the jab and ‘too busy’ looking after her children aged two to seven to book an appointment

  • Family have since launched a GoFundMe and are urging others to get the jab

A mother-of-three died after contracting coronavirus because she was ‘nervous’ about the jab and ‘too busy’ caring for her children to book an appointment.

Danni Coombs died in Milton Keynes Hospital, Bucks, just days before her 26th birthday after contracting coronavirus and ultimately sepsis while in their care.

Her devastated family have told how Danni kept ‘putting off’ her vaccine appointment because she was ‘too busy with other things.’

She is believed to have caught the virus from her fiancé Adam, and became seriously ill with coronavirus and placed on a ventilator after her oxygen levels plummeted.

Danni contracted sepsis while in Milton Keynes Hospital and passed away in July, leaving behind three young children.

Her aunt, Kelly Coombs, said Danni could have been saved if she had opted for a Covid jab sooner.

Kelly said: ‘Like many people, she kept putting it off because she was busy with other things.

‘She was also slightly nervous about it, but her mother and Adam had even arranged to take her there.

‘Before they had a chance, she caught Covid and it was too late.’

Danni – described as caring and gentle – leaves behind a son, two, who has autism and ADHD, and two little girls, aged four and seven respectively.

Her partner Adam, an electrician, is now giving up work to care for the children.

The family lived in a two-bed property in Milton Keynes, Bucks – but with space tight parents Danni and Adam gave up their bedroom to the children, opting for the living room instead.

Kelly has urged other young people to get the Covid jab to avoid falling to a similar fate as Danni.

She said: ‘The message Danni would want is to get across, loud and clear, is that people should not delay getting their Covid vaccinations like she did.

‘If Danni had been vaccinated, she probably may have still caught Covid. But she would not have got it so badly that it cost her life.’

Kelly is fundraising to support Adam and the children during this difficult period.

The crowdfunding page, set up last month, has already accrued more than £5,600 in donations.

Kelly wrote on the GoFundMe page: ‘I do not know of a more deserving family and I desperately want to give them a fighting chance to be able to deal with all the difficulties ahead.

‘Please donate whatever you can for this devastated family to give them some comfort in the knowledge they’ll have some financial security.

‘And maybe eventually a break away for them.’
