London Spirit men’s head coach Shane Warne missed the team’s Hundred fixture against the Southern Brave after testing positive for Covid-19.
The Australian spin-bowling legend reported feeling unwell and subsequently returned a positive lateral flow test, with the result of a PCR test due imminently.
Another member of the coaching staff tested positive for the virus, with both them and Warne now self-isolating.

One other London Spirit men’s staff member has tested positive and is also self-isolating
No players have been tested positive or been identified as close contacts.
‘Shane will isolate from the squad and support staff whilst he awaits PCR results,’ Spirit said.
London Spirit men have yet to register a win in this year’s inaugural Hundred competition.

They kicked off with a dramatic three-wicket defeat as Birmingham Phoenix passed their total of 145 with just three balls to spare.
Their local derby against the Oval Invincibles was abandoned last Sunday due to bad weather before the team fell just eight runs short of their target of 124 set by the Trent Rockets.
